The post is GEC M&E and Programme Officer and you will be in the Programmedepartment, supporting a new programme under the DFID Girl’s Education Challenge (GEC) funding stream being implemented through Plan Sierra Leone.
You will have experience of supporting programme management on sizeable and complex development projects funded by institutional donors, ideally in the area of education. You will also have experience of monitoring, evaluation and learning and be able to build capacity of colleagues in this area.
The post holder will be the main point of contact for the new project at Plan UK and will need to work closely with peers in Sierra Leone to effectively support the expenditure and quality progress to outcomes of the project over a tight timeframe – approximately 18 months.
Plan’s approach is child-centred, so experience of child-centred programming will be an advantage, and you will be expected to demonstrate awareness of child protection issues. We follow stringent child protection policies and procedures when dealing with applications.
This will be a full-time post at 34.5 hours a week. It will be a fixed term contract for 18-20 months. The post will be based at the Plan UK office in Old Street, London.
We envisage that 50% of your time will be spent on project management and 50% on monitoring, evaluation and learning – both within the context of the same project.
This post is contingent upon confirmation of funding from the donor, DFID.
The usual recruitment rate for this post (Grade 3) is £35,929 with future pay progression within the pay band from £35,929 to £38,765.
